K 20. výročí založení sbírky PP a Galerie Smečky byla vydána publikace Koláž, zrcadlo století. Sbírka Pražské plynárenské. Publikace je neprodejná.

Výstava Stopy paměti. Ozvěny Bruselu je uspořádaná u příležitosti 20. výročí založení sbírky Pražské plynárenské a Galerie Smečky. Výstava navazuje na výstavní koncept Stopy paměti, který Galerie Smečky realizovala na podzim roku 2025 v Pražském domě v Bruselu, kde představila díla z umělecké sbírky Pražské plynárenské.  Výstava přináší reprezentativní výběr z nejcennějších děl kolekce a naznačuje, co všechno se ještě skrývá v depozitářích. Jsou na ní zastoupeni čeští umělci od surrealistů přes experimentátory šedesátých let až po dnešní mladou generaci. 

U zrodu umělecké sbírky Pražské plynárenské stál před více než dvaceti lety Jaroslav Kořán, překladatel americké moderní literatury a první „polistopadový“ primátor Prahy. Tento milovník výtvarného umění po ukončení svého politického působení založil nakladatelství Gallery a domluvil se s vedením Pražské plynárenské, že začne budovat sbírku a bude ji prezentovat v nově založené Galerii Smečky v centru Prahy. Znal se s mnoha literáty a výtvarníky, a zvlášť blízká mu byla právě koláž, na níž je kolekce od té doby založena. 

Do sbírky se postupně podařilo získat díla předních českých umělců, k nimž patří Jiří Kolář, Běla Kolářová, Adolf Hoffmeister, Toyen, Jindřich Štyrský, Eduard Ovčáček, Čestmír Kafka, Aleš Veselý, Zbyněk Sekal, Michal Cihlář a další. S výraznou podporou vedení společnosti a ve spolupráci s předními odborníky vznikla unikátní kolekce systematicky zaměřená především na koláž, ale zahrnující i obrazy, sochy a grafiku. Od svých počátků se sbírka rozrůstá a je prezentována doma i v zahraničí (Praha, Vídeň, Brusel…), kde vždy vzbuzuje velký zájem.

U příležitosti 20. výročí je vydaná kniha Koláž, zrcadlo století, která přináší informace o historii sbírky, medailonky zastoupených umělců, rejstřík s reprodukcemi všech děl, která Pražská plynárenská vlastní, i seznam výstav, jež se v Galerii Smečky od jejího založení uskutečnily.

The exhibition Traces of Memory. Brussels Echoing was aranged to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pražská plynárenská Art Collection and Smečky Gallery. It follows up the exhibition concept Traces of Memory, that introduced atworks from The Pražská plynárenská Art Collection and was realised by Smečky Gallery in the autumn 2025 in the Prague House in Brussels, It presents a representative selection of the collection’s most valuable works while also offering a glimpse of the treasures still hidden in the depositories. The exhibition features Czech artists ranging from the Surrealists and the experimental generation of the 1960s to today’s younger artists.

The Pražská plynárenská Art Collection was initiated more than twenty years ago by Jaroslav Kořán, translator of modern American literature and the first post-1989 Mayor of Prague. A passionate admirer of the visual arts, Kořán founded the publishing house Gallery after ending his political career and, in agreement with the management of Pražská plynárenská, began building an art collection to be presented in the newly established Galerie Smečky in the centre of Prague. Personally connected with many writers and visual artists, Kořán felt a particular closeness to collage, which has remained at the heart of the collection ever since.

Over time, the collection has acquired works by leading Czech artists such as Jiří Kolář, Běla Kolářová, Adolf Hoffmeister, Toyen, Jindřich Štyrský, Eduard Ovčáček, Čestmír Kafka, Aleš Veselý, Zbyněk Sekal, Michal Cihlář and many others. Thanks to strong support from Pražská plynárenská and cooperation with leading experts, a unique collection has been created, systematically focused above all on collage but also including paintings, sculptures and prints. Since its beginnings, the collection has continued to grow and has been presented both in the Czech Republic and abroad (Prague, Vienna, Brussels, etc.), always attracting considerable attention.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary, the book Collage, a Mirror of the Centrury was published. It provides an overview of the collection’s history, profiles of the represented artists, a catalogue with reproductions of all works owned by Pražská plynárenská, and a list of exhibitions held at Galerie Smečky since its foundation.
